During a seemingly normal flight, I realized that something was off with how I used technology. I remember unlocking my phone and starting to swipe and scroll excessively even though I knew that I had no internet access...
Simply, there was nothing that I needed to do on my phone and still I was using it like it mattered. Over the course of that one flight, this happened several times before I even became conscious of what I was doing. It felt extremely rewarding to open my phone even when there was no reason for doing it.
At this stage, I could not have imagined what real consequences my unhealthy phone usage would have. I didn't know it would initiate a depression and the loss of half of my savings...
